ABOUT US

NORWEGIAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION

Norwegian Library Association (NLA) was founded 25 October 1913.

NLA is a non-profit, independent organization aiming to promote and develop library and information services.

NLA's objective is to be a forceful and unifying interest group for the Norwegian library and information services sector. NLA shall be the advocate and premise supplier for libraries at all levels of government.

Membership is open for all welcoming NLA's aims, individuals and institutions alike. In 2011, NLA counts app. 3100 members, of which 2100 are individual members.

NLA subscription Agent provides services to libraries and institutions that are members. Since its foundation in 1934, NLA Subscription Agent has been a supplier of Norwegian and foreign periodicals to all types of libraries.

 

BIBSYS

BIBSYS is a key supplier of products and services for higher educational institutions, other research institutions in Norway, public administrative institutions and the National Library of Norway.

We offer researchers, students and others an easy access to library resources by providing a variety of search possibilities as well as simple loan and order functions.

We deliver a range of integrated products for the internal operation of research and special libraries, as well as providing easy access to the libraries’ collections, whether they are electronic or paper documents.

Our products and services are developed in cooperation with the institutions we serve.

Our aim is to be the most important strategic tool for the higher educational institutions, enabling them to provide the right library services to their users.
